Francis Road Rummies (2010–2012)
They say “paint what you know”. Since birth, I have been acutely familiar with the tragi-comic world of alcoholism in which I was raised. A well developed sense of the ridiculous is a hallmark of many an active addict and/or someone recovering from addiction. Years ago, near my art studio in Maraval, POS, drinkers converged at a local watering hole called “Babe’s Bar”. Over time, some of the patrons gave me permission to paint them.
