Early Work, Jamaica (1991–1993)

Between 1991 and 1999 I painted many satires, exploring themes of pathos and hypocrisy with a biting humour. A notable example, Endangered Species (1993), reveals an unflattering view of a white Jamaican uptown family, a group substantially diminished in size since the 1970’s. In My Dear Have You Heard?, Mrs. Upper St. Andrew confirms that other peoples’ business is her business.
