Soul Streets (2020)

The soulful streets of Port of Spain teem with people, with community. There are bright, vibrant colours; cacophonies of noises, smells and sensations are everywhere. For 24 years, I have been painting people who live on the fringes of social and economic life in Trinidad. Each person and their situation, in all their similarities and differences, is unique. I paint people as I experience them, I do not seek to influence or alter the present moment, or “what is”.
